Otano" is a twin screw motor launch of conventional long keel and round chime hull and is constructed with traditional mahogany on oak. She is powered by twin 4 cylinder diesel engines, driving through conventional stern gear, and 2 fixed 3 blade propellers to give the vessel speeds of up to 14 knots. Internally forward there is a chain locker, 4 berth cabin, with storage areas, galley area to the port side along with the W.C. and the dinette is set to the starboard side. A step from the saloon leads to the semi-enclosed wheelhouse with the engines fitted underneath the wheelhouse floor. A step down from the whhelhouse leads to the open cockpit, with locker space either side and tank stowage underneath ther floor. The boat has just had a survey (4th June 2007). Genreal remarks: "Otano has been well constructed to a successful well proven design," "she is in good structural order."
The boat has recently undergone a complete refit, including all new skin fittings and valves, new navigation lights, new cooker/oven, and new galley and sink. Also there is a new solid mahogany table which converts into the second 2 berths. The cover has been renewed and there has been new morse controls fitted and the engine has been rewired to a new instument panel. Two new batteries have been installed. There is a flexible water tanks which holds approximately 100 litres of water. There is a webasto water heater which heats the water and also heats the cabin. There are two electric bilge pumps and float switches, a new manual bilge pump, and a new bilge blower. There are two new stainless steel rudders. There is a Navico RT 6500 VHF radio, Garmin GPS, an Eagle Fish Finder, Jabsco W.C., JVC CD player and a large fridge. |
