This was originally a 2005 R900, however the difference between Cannondale models is simply the components and not the frame and fork. Most of the original components belonged to the low-end Campagnolo Veloce family and have now been replaced by the top-end Campagnolo Record family.
Gone is the Campagnolo Veloce groupset, in is the Campagnolo Record 2006 groupset including the Compact Carbon Crankset (you'll get up hills that you never thought you would), Carbon Rear and Front Derailleur, and Carbon Gear/Brake Shifters. This is the Campagnolo groupset used by professional riders worldwide. This Campagnolo Record groupset alone justifies the starting price.
Gone are the appalling handlebars, in are Deda Newton Anatomic bars which are incredibly comfortable, light and strong.
Gone is the too long and heavy stem, in is a Stella Azzura stem that is shorter, lighter and stronger.
Gone is the bog standard saddle, in is a Fizik Aliante saddle. Although if this is not your preference I can fit a Fizik Arione saddle instead.
Other additions include the Campagnolo Ergobrain Cycle Computer, the only cycle computer that lets you know which gear you're in, alongside basic functions like speed, distance it also has a pedal sensor for measuring cadence. Note: The front wheel spoke magnet is missing in action (attached to my other set of wheels), a new one would be needed, and costs around £5 from any cycle shop (even Evans!).
There are some beausage (beauty through usage) scratches on the frame, and a dent on the top tube. The dent is my fault, to avoid hitting another cyclist I slammed on the front brake, flew over the front still holding onto the bike, and when the bike landed it landed on me. I had the dent investigated after it happened and Condor Cycles of London gave it the all clear, I was sceptical and obtained a second opinion from Cycle Fit of London who also gave it the all clear. I came off a lot worse than the bike did (1 month off the bike) and there was no other damage to the bike (this was not a collision with a truck or anything).
The only things on this bike that were there at purchase time are the frame, headset and the wheels. I did race on other wheels but I have swapped back the original seldom used wheels for the sale as I am still racing on the racing wheels on my other bikes :)
Who is this bike for?
Racers or those looking to take up racing Fast commuters Enthusiasts It will fit someone between 5' 11" and 6' 2" in height. This isn't a slow bike to take down the shops once a week. Ride it, and ride the hell out of it.
Why am I selling? I already own a Serotta, and a Bob Jackson, and I have just got married. So that's three bikes in a small flat and not much money thanks to the wedding... clearly selling one of the bikes helps make space in the flat (all my bikes are stored indoors) as well as help pay for the wedding.
Notes: You'll want to buy a magnet for the front wheel to enable the cycle computer to show speed and distance. I will throw in the Time RXS pedals if they are required, but you'll need to purchase cleats for your shoes. If you dislike the Aliante saddle I can swap it for an Arione for free.
